Sometimes big is not always better
Amanda Bynes is not the kind of celebrity that you would find dancing on a table top at a club, or running around acting scandalous, so it was no surprise when she asked for a small intimate dinner to celebrate the launch of her clothing line “dear.” Based on Amanda’s love for sushi, we chose to close off the roof of well known restaurant Sushi Samba to gather Amanda’s closest friends and the creative team from Steve & Barry’s.
Because the rooftop of Sushi Samba had such a unique shape and lively colors that matched perfectly with the brand, not much extra décor was needed. We set a few mannequins around the room so guests could really get a feel for the clothes and accompanied them with lucite frames with inserts of the brand logo. Images and quotes from the campaign were printed on cardstock and incorporated into small floral arrangements, while small porcelain dear figurines were placed at every table.
Guests were greeted at the door with servers offering “dear-tini’s” and enjoyed both passed Latin infused appetizers as well as platters of sushi spread along the tables. Everyone went home full and with a gift bag full of goodies from the line.
